I didn't have the concept of changing the drain bolt, but can I ask about the advantages and disadvantages of replacing it with a premag directly?
It's totally fine. You can't replace it if you don't have a place to drain the oil and a place to put it in, right? There is a screw for waste oil called a drain bolt, and a strong magnet is attached to it. The main purpose is to collect metal powder floating in the oil by attaching a strong magnet to the drain bolt because the gear (transmission, differential) always causes friction and produces metal powder. It's about trying. If the gear is rotated with metal powder floating in the oil, the gear itself will wear out more and more. You want to collect it quickly to prevent it from wearing out, right? That's why I made Premag, thinking that it would be nice to have something with a strong magnetic force to make the gear last longer. Hmm...there are advantages, but there are no disadvantages. The price is not too high (laughs).
Is the magnetic force the only major difference from other companies' products?
Magnetism isn't the only difference. After all, Fnuts itself is a place where there are many people who drive on the circuit, so the heat resistance is able to maintain 3500 to 4300 gauss even in an environment of 180 degrees. Strong magnetic force is important, but durability is also necessary to keep the oil in the engine, which lubricates at high temperatures, in the optimum condition at all times. At the time of production, the drain bolt was mainly made of aluminum, but the difference is that the main body is made of steel instead of aluminum. After all, I think I did an experiment when I was in elementary school, but aluminum and magnets don't stick together, right? Then, inevitably, it can only be attached with adhesive. That's why I made it steel, and of course I used glue, but I made it so that the magnet and the main body can stick together more strongly. If the magnet falls off the bolt, it will be a big problem.
If it's a strong magnetic force, won't it affect the car's CPU or something else?
For example, if there is an electrical device (CPU) nearby, it is different, but there is no problem because the device and the drain bolt that affect the installation location are not close! It's under the oil pan of the engine or directly under the transmission, so there's no special wiring or anything in those places, so there's no effect anywhere. I think we often hear people say, "Magnetic force is good for the human body," but it's not limited to cars.
Why did you decide to make Premag?
Drain bolts with magnets are used in some genuine models. The magnetic force wasn't that strong. There are many new magnets out there now, so I don't know, but when I made them, there weren't many magnets with very strong magnetic force. Since it is attached to a place where there is high temperature and vibration, if it is made of aluminum and is attached only with adhesive, the magnet part will come off due to deterioration of the adhesive and temperature and vibration. If the magnet comes off, if the case is made of steel and you are lucky, it will stick to the case, but if the case is made of aluminum, it will stick to the gear. It was a pity that I ruined the gear when I heard that the magnet came off and it was a disaster. That's why I made it lol
Even if it's just one drain bolt, consideration is given so that customers don't have to worry about it.
It's best not to get in trouble. If you collect the iron powder as soon as possible and make it so that the magnet does not peel off, you can keep the gears in good condition for a long time and protect your car from trouble, so you can rest assured, right?
However, I don't know when to change it.
If you want to use it, I think it's good at the time of oil change. It's not expensive, and I can't change it unless I change the oil (laughs)
Do you recommend Premag when changing oil at Funuts?
If there is a customer who does not use the magnet drain bolt, I will talk about it. Then most people will say, "Replace!" It's not expensive, and most of our customers say that if they're going to change it anyway, they want it to have a proper one, so I'm replacing it with a premag.
